In her lecture Shaabi to Chic: Pop Culture is Consumer Culture, Rana Salam will talk about how Middle Eastern pop culture transcends social hierarchy, age and gender. It is a culture where we all somewhere, somehow, consume the same products, be it on a school bus or while watching a cinema screen.
